Art and AI

It is an honor to be featured on Raiinmaker’s blog:
Laurel’s Journey with Raiinmaker: Where Art, AI & Crypto Converge

For digital artist Laurel, technology has always been a paradox. Starting her artistic journey in the 1990s with Photoshop — despite an initial fear of computers — she has exhibited her work in New York, Venice, and Miami. Yet, blockchain, AI, and cryptocurrency remained unexplored territories. That changed when a friend introduced her to Raiinmaker.

Intrigued but not driven by financial gain, Laurel decided to give it a try. “I did it to learn a little bit about AI,” she says. “And when I started using it, I thought, oh wow, this is fun. I got hooked.” The app’s AI-driven art generation opened new creative avenues, sparking her fascination with how prompts could shape visual

But it wasn’t just about creating art. Laurel found herself exploring Raiinmaker’s tagging system, which helps refine AI recognition through descriptive labels. Here, she hit some roadblocks. “I don’t know what your purpose is with the tagging,” she admits. “If we’re training AI, shouldn’t it be learning more than just ‘tree’ or ‘blue’ but more nuanced concepts like ‘luminous moon’?” Her feedback underscores the need for more expressive AI language capabilities — something Raiinmaker’s team is already considering.

The journey didn’t stop there. In the past year, Laurel dipped her toes into cryptocurrency — something she hadn’t explored before. “In the last year, I’ve been dabbling in crypto, which I didn’t do before,” she reveals. “The Raiinmaker app is an intersection of crypto and art.” Through Quests, she’s accumulated small amounts of Bitcoin, Solana, and USDC, appreciating how the platform seamlessly integrates digital art with crypto rewards.

Looking to the future, Laurel has a vision: a marketplace where AI-generated art can be sold as NFTs. “I’d love to see a marketplace where the art we create can be sold as NFTs,” she shares. “Many NFTs weren’t really art; they were collectibles. But as a digital artist, I create with light, color, and energy. It makes sense for digital art to be owned and displayed on digital screens.”

She also sees potential in licensing AI-generated art for blogs, marketing, or merchandise — similar to stock photography and print-on-demand services. For her, Raiinmaker isn’t just an app; it’s a gateway into the evolving landscape of AI creativity, blockchain integration, and digital ownership.

“We’re not just making pretty things to keep on our phones,” Laurel emphasizes. “We’re part of something bigger — an ecosystem where creators can be valued. That’s the future I’d love to see.”

As Raiinmaker continues to innovate, the insights from users like Laurel help shape its future — bridging the gap between artistic expression and financial opportunity. In doing so, Raiinmaker is redefining how we think about art, AI, and ownership in a decentralized world.

ILLUMINATION

"There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic."

Secret of Secrets

"If you could get rid of yourself just once,
the secret of secrets would open to you.

The face of the unknown,
hidden beyond the universe
would appear on the mirror of
your perception."
